Summary Eighth Wonder Of The World

Summary

John Watkins wrote this article on 18 March 2006 . He wrote it to show Libya is a desert country and doesn't have any water resources but there is a clever man who created a river project in Libya and there life will be better than before . In 1969 , after the Great Al Fatoh revolution , Muammer Al Qadhafi expelled land lords . He created water supplies but it was not suitable for drinking. Muammer Al Qadhafi was the first person who started the river project in August 1984 , and he got support from foreign companies. Phase I began in 1993 ; water reached Benghazi from eastern well-fields at Sarir and Tazerbo. After three years , phase ll at Febal Hassouna , bringing water to Tripoli from western well-fields , was finished . Phase lll , the one which connects the first and second phase , is still under construction . It was successful and for the first time in Libya's history , there was water in the tap for washing. Also Libya is now a world leader in the field of engineering hydrology and it is in a good position to play an increasingly influential role in the global economy. They hope they can decrease the foreign percentage from 30% to 10% .

Main idea
There was a lack of water support in Libya . Foreign countries helped Muammer Al Qadhafi . to construct wells in the desert and transport fresh water to coastal cities . This assistance improved Libyans' lives and led Libya to be the world leader in hydrological engineering.

Opinion
In my opinion , try to do the best to get rid of all our problems to make life very successful .
